Penn Wood and Plymouth-Whitemarsh Rematch Set

Both Penn Wood and Plymouth-Whitemarsh won big tonight, setting the stage for a Saturday rematch of the District Final game won in overtime by Penn Wood. This time the stakes are even higher: a state title. Penn Wood is the reigning AAAA state champ and looking to repeat while Plymouth-Whitemarsh is looking to avenge the heart-breaking loss in the district title game.

I was on hand for Penn Wood's win tonight against Bethlehem's Liberty High School. A full recap of the game will be posted tomorrow. Tonight was my first time seeing Liberty's Darrun Hilliard and I came away impressed. He led Liberty with 26 points in a losing effort while Tyree Johnson had 19 for Penn Wood in the win. Saint Joseph's Phil Martelli and Geoff Arnold were in the house as was Temple's Fran Dunphy.
